Can you still get an original iPhone?

Seeing how this investment of $600 + is treated by Apple as a Bic lighter, wondering if you can still purchase the original iphone through the stores via an exchange?

While my phone is still working, the latest updates have slowed the screens down a bit where they hesitate a bit or even hang as you switch from app screen to app screen (I only have 4 app screens).

Since the update the phone seems sluggish and while I won't blame apple for the connection, att seems to have worsen as I truly get no reception in far too many places I need to get a reception, which are all located in civilization, meaning not on some camping trip.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), MacBookPro3,1/2.4 GHz

Original iphones are not sold as new any longer. You may find some used for sale by individuals or maybe refurbs. You can check the Apple website or AT&T site yourself.

Not sure what is causing your issues, I am not experiencing them. It seems your iphone may have an issue. Have you tried reset? Restore?

Have you taken it to the Apple Store for diagnosis?

If you are eligible for upgrade, a new iphone is much less expensive than $600.

As cheap as a new iPhone is nowadays, you're better off just buying a new one. You can get a refurbished 8GB 3G for only $50 now through AT&T. Or an 8GB 3G new for $100. The 3G's and 3GS's are much, much faster than the original iPhone in terms of data transfer rates. The S also features a faster processor, which you'll appreciate if you do much gaming with your iPhone.

Personally, I own an 8GB iPhone 3G and find it to be plenty for me. You may opt for an S though.

But, yeah, to answer your question, you really should just get a new one.
