I-Tunes file management in Windows 7

On my new Windows 7 computer as opposed to XP and Vista machines I can no longer add, delete, or copy music and video files unless I do it through I Tunes. This is not a problem if I'm adding a file since I Tunes seems to automatically copy the file onto my hard drive when I add the file to my library. However, when I delete a file from my I-Tunes library how do I know it's off the hard drive as well?
