Using Macbook Pro keyboard on a Mac Mini Server

Hi,

I have a Mac Mini server with Leopard OS X server software but I don't yet have a keyboard. I will get one in the near future, but for now I would like to set up the server. The server is brand new and hasn't been turned on yet.

Is it possible to use the Keyboard on my Macbook Pro to control the Mac Mini server?

Thanks

You can normally use one Mac to control another Mac through Sharing. The MacBook Pro should be able to connect to the mini's HDD and also control the mini through Screen Sharing over a network. You will need to activate Sharing on the MB P in System Preferences>Sharing. The question is whether the minis/mini servers are shipping with Sharing active by default. (I bought mine in May and do not recall.) If so, you should be able to go through the setup from the MB P. The only way to know is to try.
