Microwaves Ovens and Airport Express

I've been having issues with streaming music from my Mac to my Airport Express connected stereo system and have finally found the reason/solution during this morning's Brunch... The Microwave!

I have my Airport Express setup both as my wireless router and iTunes streaming destination, and have been maddened by occasional cutouts during what otherwise seems like quality constant connection... It's the microwave. I heated up some tea this morning and the sound cutout. "**** I hate when that happens", I said to myself. 5 minutes later my wife heated up some bacon, "Wait a minute it cut out again, turn that thing off", I said. The microwave shuts off... the music's back. Eureka!!! One final test with heating up the syrup confirms it. I can now sleep at night.

You might want to try changing the channel on your wireless network to see if that will help with the microwave interference.

Open Hard Drive > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the icons to open the Wireless settings page
It's probably on Automatic now, but experiment with different channel settings to see if that might help.
