Grapher app - logarithms

Does anybody know how to enter an equation using the log() function with a base other than 10? I tried subscripting (I want to use base 2) and it doesn't like the syntax. Am I stuck using the identity for changing base?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Bonjour,
Grapher knows only two logarithm functions : "ln(x)" (base e) and "log(x)" (base 10) ; for others bases you can't avoid the formula log(x)base a = ln(x) / ln(a) and for base 2 : log(x)base 2 = ln(x) / ln(2)
More information about built-in functions of Grapher pages 53-54 of the manual you may download on< <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://macetprof.free.fr/MacEtProf/Grapher.html >(GrapherManuel05:11:09) or on< <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://freeware.avosmac.com/ > (letter G, Valider, Grapher(le manuel) or on < <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://edu.mac.free.fr/index-a.php?trucs=719&page=7 > (logiciels, Grapher, télécharger le manuel de Grapher).
It's a French manual but tables of functions, syntax, équation editor show only mathematical signs.
Good luck, YB24
