Restore files from trash.
How do I restore something back to it"s original folder from the trash bin?
Click on and open the Trash Bin. Select the item. Click "File" and then "Put Back" from the Finder menu.

When I open trash and after I have selected the item to restore, when I click on file there is no "put back" option to select. This is what has been puzzling me. What else can be done?
What version of OS X are you running?
Try selecting the file and pressing Command and Z.
I have the laptop with aluminum unibody construction and it is only 1 year old. The command and then Z(siultaneously) option doesn"t work either.

What type of file is it?
There are multiple files that were deleted from the All Documents Folder. I am thinking that elimination of these would hamper some of my "Office Works" software.
You are in OS X and not Windows, correct? If so, the files in the trash are being ignored by the system. Click on the Apple in the upper left corner, go to About This Mac and let me know what version of OS X you are running.
You are correct. I do not have a separation of the hard drive but the files were transferred over when the laptop was purchased. The system is MAC OS X(10.5.8).

Yes, most are numbered "Quick Draw" files such as j0221903 or j0222015. There are as many as 100 or so.
datrider, Jay has it correct here. If you are running Mac OS X, the files are currently in the trash and the application is working normally, then you can safely empty the trash. The OS and application can not use anything in the trash. In fact you can't even open a text document or photo that is in the trash, you have to move it out before you can open it.
So, is it that everything found in the "All Documents" folder is a copy of everything and anything that was opened or downloaded onto the laptop? If the "All Documents" folder gets emptied completely will it adversely affect the operation of any software application loaded onto this laptop?
That's what it looks like. What you can always do is move it to the trash and hold it there for a while, week or so, before you delete it. That might ease your concerns and if you run into any problems you can move it back. But I don't see any problems by deleting the stuff in there.
