screen is getting darker and brighter

screen is getting darker and brighter

idk what is the cause of this but as i am using my macbook pro the screen is getting darker and brighter.... i keep my screen brightness around 8 and it goes all the way up and then all the way to 2 .. and this is happening whiles im using it

can any figure out the cause of this?

If you go to System Preferences>Displays you might check and see if the box that says "Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes" is checked. Try unchecking the box and see if this helps.

What you are describing sounds like more variation than what should be happening. I'm wondering if the ambient light sensor may be malfunctioning or something like that?
