itunes to restore not working

my ipod says use itunes to restore and when i do it it says it restored and then it just says it again. i have tried restarting it and i feel like i have tried everything. is it just junk? should i spend money and buy another one? or is there a solution?

Sounds like the downloaded firmware may be a problem...

Try following these steps first:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1813

additionally... you may want to reset your ipod by holding the center and menu buttons until the apple logo appears first...

make sure that the iPod is fully connected and plugged into a main USB port also..
