Transfer contacts from iPhone to SIM

Hello,
Is there any way to transfer my contacts from my iPhone to my SIM card? I don't wan't to jailbreak it and I am curious if the iPhone automatically saves the contacts to the SIM card.
I am not planning on switching phones, and while I have all my contacts saved on my computer it would be nice to be able to have them on the SIM in case my phone breaks.
I'm not looking for alternative ways to transfer contacts via bluetooth either.

The iPhone and all other smartphones do not transfer to SIM cards. You can however add your contacts to the Cloud server of your choice.
* MobileMe
* Microsoft Live
* Google
* Yahoo
* Company MS Exchange
* Personal MS Exchange

SIM card contacts can only store telephone numbers and names. No addresses, birthdays, etc. When you decide to switch OS smartphones, you can use your current exchange server to restore the information whether it's PALM, iPhone, Android, or Microsoft.
