How can I get a blank screensaver?

Newbie here, I can't figure out how to get a blank screensaver. What's the secret?

24" imac, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Hi akadoublej & welcome to discussions.

You have the choice to use an image of whatever background color you like, or to deactivate/sleep the monitor or sleep the computer...

go to system preferences->energy saver and set monitor sleep for 3 minutes and computer sleep for 30 minutes.
