FireWire 800 Hub

i have several FireWire cables that I need to connect to my i5. I had to replace 2 of the wires, but there is only one port. Has anyone found a FireWire hub so that I don't have to keep plugging and unplugging my cables?

Have you tried daisy-chaining the Firewire devices if they have multiple FW connectors on the device(s)? The devices should be using their own power supply if more than one device is connected depending on what you are connecting; is that true of the devices you want to connect? What are the devices you want to connect?

You can find hubs by Google search although I think FW400 hubs are more prevalent than FW800 hubs but the hub approach may not be necessary.

Belkin makes a 2-port firewire 800 hub:

Gefen also makes a firewire 800 "repeater" that I believe also acts as a 2-port hub:

I'm also about to buy an i5 machine. I have a FW 800 External HD and a Firewire 400 hub to which I connect some FW400 devices and some usb 2.0 devices. If I connect the FW800 External HD directly to the FW800 port on the computer and then connect the FW400 hub in a daisy chain to the FW800 port on the external hard drive, will that slow down the FW800 connection from the external hard drive to the computer?
