limit mail.app simultaneous imap connections

hi,

is there any way to limit the number of simultaneous connections that mail.app makes to an imap server? perhaps something settable via: *defaults write com.apple.Mail* ?

essentially, i'm looking for the Mail.app equivalent of thunderbird advaced config: mail.server.serverX.maxcachedconnections

thx

imac, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

I second that. I'm using a web hosting provider that limits the number of open inbound connections and I have 10 users using IMAP via Mail.app. I am maxed out at 30 open connections and cannot FTP or SSH in during office hours. Likewise, users get blocked and locked out when they attempt to send mail because the server won't accept anymore connections. My choices are now between dropping Mail.app for Thunderbird or somesuch alternative or switching to a more expensive hosting provider. Apple should give users control over the number of connections Mail.app opens.
