Why is it that when I copy a DMG to Windows XP across my network and then copy it back that the DMG file is corrupted? "The following disk image failed to mount"
The DMG was on the Windows station about a week or so and I had defragmented the hard drive the disk image was on - that is the only thing I think could have messed it up.
I guess Windows just *****?
Thanks

I can't get my darn Windows to show up in the Finder, which I know from experience, is just a Windows corruption somewhere, because if you install Windows again it works just fine, but I spent too much time setting this one up so I am not erasing Windows XP.
However, I am perfectly capable of seeing my Macbook under the Networking shares on my Windows computer and then copy files over from Windows to the Drop Box.
The only way to share Mac files from my Mac, because of what I explained, is to use the Public Folder in my Home Folder.
It's a lost cause! When this happens, which has happened several times, you just gotta use a different method of exchanging dmg files with Windows - like compressing them as a zip file.
I don't have any trouble exchanging any other files type then DMG.
