Currently Being ModeratedDec 29, 2009 12:47 PM (in response to jtavo)No it didn't come like that. The imac box was just placed in another brown box. I didnt take a pic of it in the brown box. the outer box had no extra protection. I think its just use to protect the identity of the machine.2.0 Mac Mini /4GB / 320GB HD/, Mac OS X (10.6), iPhone 3GS 32GB

Currently Being ModeratedJan 1, 2010 5:03 PM (in response to Alby Superstar)I've had a watch kept on UK suppliers Woolworth(!) and John Lewis since about the start of Dec when they had none in stock - have just had an e-mail saying Woolworth now have i5s in stock. Seems like new machines are coming through!
Currently Being ModeratedJan 2, 2010 2:07 PM (in response to bhagiratha5)Just wanted to post a new link to my new setup.

Currently Being ModeratedJan 4, 2010 2:24 PM (in response to Alby Superstar)I have emailed my reseller stating that I will wait until Apple sorts out their issues.
There are two points that users will never get away from,
1.There will always be new technology, and hardware/bug fixes to fine tune.
2.There will always be problems with making technology light and innovative, a bit like the race car broke just over the finish line analogy.
I believe Apple has great people and products, and with the Imac their $$$ shares are growing, as long as they can keep pace with it, being innovators I am sure they can but to many alarm bells for me to buy at present. I will just keep using my 15 year old computer and borrow the wifes HP core duo Laptop which incidently hasn't crashed once in 2 years, compared to my Mac which crashes at least twice a week, at times I think liking the apple OS there is a price to pay!Power Macintosh G3 266, Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier
Currently Being ModeratedJan 7, 2010 6:39 AM (in response to Alby Superstar)I ordered my 27" imac 3.06GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO on the 31st dec 2010, with the extended keyboard, apple care and ATI RADEON HD 4850 512MB. as these are not standard to the model i chose i expected a long delivery. the delivery status up until today has been 'not yet shipped' and today it briefly changed to 'prepared to ship' it now has changed back to 'not yet shipped' this has confused me :S
i wish apple's tracking system was more detailed, most people who but a mac spend alot of money on them so not showin much information on where it is is not very good!!
i just want it now!!!

Currently Being ModeratedJan 11, 2010 3:43 AM (in response to Alby Superstar)Just got my i7 from jigsaw24.com - next day delivery, very impressive. They've got quite a lot of i5s and i7s in stock, and they're an authorised reseller so no worries there.
Best money I ever spent, it's beautiful.
Currently Being ModeratedJan 13, 2010 5:49 AM (in response to star-fish)Here in Thailand, I ordered my i7 Quad with 2 TB and 8 GB Ram on Dec 28 from an Apple authorized iStudio store in Bangkok. They confirm they ordered it the same day. They had originally said 2-3 weeks. Today, they say Apple slipped estimated shipping date to early February. That's nearly another month from today! I never had this problem with ordering a Mac before.
I am a patient person, and so expect I will wait. But hope Apple pulls a surprise and ships it earlier.
Anyone else with experiences in Thailand/Asia?MacBook Pro 17, Mac OS X (10.6.1)
Currently Being ModeratedJan 21, 2010 4:28 AM (in response to EmzzY)i ordered the exact same one as you with all the same extras on the 31st DEC '09 i guess u mean! i live in the uk and i got mine 12th jan 1 and a half week before the original shipping date (22nd jan) so maybe its because u live somewhere random!!? i was really impatient and checked it obsessively, and mine did the exact same, changed briefly and it confused me too, but i kept checking and within a few day it was in the uk, i had a ups tracking number and it was with me the next day......i love it, it's stunning. well worth the wait ximac 27-inch: 3.06GHz, ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB. magic mouse.apple care.1TB serial ATA Drive. 4GB.
