I accidently put my Ipod touch in the washing machine and I put it in rice like most people say to do, waited a couple days, plugged it into my laptop, the screen lit up (Didn't show the usual earth background or time at all) the screen kept changing colors then it became different shades gray and I could see some spot that I think are water but not sure. My friend said I should just wait, should I?
Its still toast, however. You can send it to Apple for repairs - $179 or just pick up a new one. You are not going to get full functionality from it no matter what you do.
If your ipod shows try and restore it, its a long shot but worth a chance. As well apple ships back ipods made with "New and/or Refurbished parts" but there is no difference really between refurbs and new ipods, just technicalities.
