Q: AirPort card in a G3 Lombard

I have an airport card I placed in an ancient Lombard, but it is not recognized by the computer. Is there something I need to do to get it to work?

If you placed it into the PC-card slot, I don't believe it is supported by Apple in that configuration. Third-party cards, such as Orinoco or Lucent cards ARE supported in OS 9, and can be supported in Mac OS X with an Open_Software driver.

The Apple card in the PS-slot has no antenna, so you would need to do something about that as well. The Lucent or Orinoco cards have an antenna built into their thick outer ends.

That would explain my situation. It is an Apple AirPort card I took from an old iMac.
    Thanks,
