SMS text in Chinese - Iphone 3GS

98% of the time I write in Spanish, but I often receive from others and others receive from SMS text in Chinese, having been written both, incoming and outgoing, in Spanish. The Spanish keyboard is the only one on.

Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

Don't quite understand the question, but in settings you can also change language support, separate from keyboard support. Is that what you're asking/

It sounds like an encoding problem. It could be an issue with the phone carriers being used for the SMS rather than anything to do with your phone. In any case I doubt there is anything you can do on your phone to fix it. Is your iphone user interface set to Spanish? If not, that could be worth a try.

I am not that experienced, how do I know if my interface is in Spanish, what do you mean?

Nope, I have the language support set to English, and the keyboard set to Spanish, but SMS constantly and sent and/or received in Chinese. It is happening with my new 3GS, and with my old 2G.
