Disable printer colour management

Please can someone tell me how to disable my printer's colour management when using Elements 8 under Snow Leopard?

I select "Elements manages colour" and on the next screen the ColourSync option is greyed out. I'm not getting the sparkling colour I expect from my prints and suspect colour management is being applied twice - the selected profile in Elements and again from the printer.

Hi there,

I don't have Elements, but looking at PS4 under Color Management, when you select 'Photoshop Manages Colors' it automatically sets the Color Matching menu to ColorSync and disables the menu so that you cannot set the printer to manage the color.

If you don't like the colors you are getting then set the Elements print dialog to 'Printer Manages Color'. This will set the Color Matching menu to the printer managing the color (but will still be grayed-out). Then you need to ensure you select the correct paper setting for the paper you are using as the color profiles for the printer are often based on different paper stocks.
