Loading Korg Legacy M1 sounds in Logic

I have searched all over and can't find out what I'm doing wrong.
I have a new macbook pro 10.6.2 and logic pro 9. I am new to Logic so I'm not really sure how to play sounds outside of Logic. I recently got the Korg Legacy Collection- and have successfully installed it on my computer. Now, I want to be able to load these sounds into logic, and have them part of my library. When I go to media>browser>library>audio>plug-ins>VST there is nothing there. But, if I go to my HD and go library>audio>plug-ins>VST there is a KORG folder, which contains the file M1.vst - How can I open this in Logic? What am I missing? I want these Korg sounds to load in Logic, so I can use them as virtual instuments. Can I do this? and store them in Logic too?
Any help is greatly appreciated.. thanks!

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

You have to load the plugin into an instrument channel strip. Once thats done, you select the patch you want and then you can save it to your library. Logic does not automatically generate library entries when you load an AU into your system. It should appear in the plugin list that comes up when you click and hold on the instrument insert slot. It will be at the bottom of the list under "AU instruments" in the Korg folder.

thanks so much for your help! finally I understand how this works... but I still have another question...
does this mean I can save this sound in Logic? meaning, the patch will become part of my library in logic?

My main concern is, after I save it, I remove the USB key (dongle?) that unlocks the korg sounds, and then when I re-open the project in logic, my sound is not there, and there is an error (presumably because I removed the USB key)

So, essentially, is there a way I can import some of these sounds into Logic, use them in Logic, WITHOUT having the Korg USB key use up one of my USB ports?

The key doesn't unlock the sounds, the key unlocks the Korg M1 synthesizer that plays the sound. The M1 is a synthesizer built in software, it's required to play the sounds.

As mentioned, after you get your track edited and sounding the way you want, you can then bounce the output to a standard audio file.

Sampling the sound requires some expertise, is time consuming and will never quite equal the playability of the original softsynth.

pancenter-
