MacBook Pro Black Screen

I have the black screen problem with my Mac book pro, called apple support and they were no help at all.

This is what I found hoping they will help with what is obviously apples mistake:

+In July 2008, NVIDIA publicly acknowledged a higher than normal failure rate for some of their graphics processors due to a packaging defect. At that same time, NVIDIA assured Apple that Mac computers with these graphics processors were not affected. However, after an Apple-led investigation, Apple has determined that some MacBook Pro computers with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor may be affected. If the NVIDIA graphics processor in your MacBook Pro has failed, or fails within two years of the original date of purchase, a repair will be done free of charge, even if your MacBook Pro is out of warranty+

But Nothing.....I was told apple could not do anything because it was out of warranty, I have not had this for more then two years. I'm now using a Toshiba Laptop with windows 98 that I got 10 years ago and it is still working fine..

I was thinking of upgrading for another Mac book but never again.. I will never buy an apple product again.

I don't know what your conversation looked like but if you do have computer affected by this issue and bought within last two years - then you are surely eligible for a free replacement. Call them again or visit some local Apple store if you can.
