Wide Screen titles get clipped on Standard TVs

I am burning a movie on DVD's using iMovie 09 and iDVD 09. The movie will be viewed on a variety of TVs and computers. I chose Wide Screen in both iMovie and iDVD for my format. When the movie is viewed on a standard TVs some titles get clipped on the right and left side. Is there any way to prevent this clipping?
