Hi, when I go to Settings>General>Network, it only shows my VPN. There is no APN. I did have my carrier Fido completely block data. So is this the reason why my APN is not being displayed. The reason I am somewhat concerned about this is I may want to have data in the future, and if there is no APN, does this mean I am not eligible to have a data plan?
Your carrier has control over this through the carrier file on your phone. Only your carrier can make changes. If you add data, you're carrier file will change.
Again, that depends on your carrier. You cannot change the information in the Cellular Data Network screen unless you have an authorized, unlocked iPhone or your carrier allows editing the APN settings.
I know with Rogers they do not enable the APN settings menu regardless of if you have data or not. I would assume that Fido is the same. So if you get data, you will not be able to set the APN settings, they will be set by Fido and locked to the regular fido APN settings.
