Updated drivers for Epson and Lexmark are now available via Software Update

I installed the update for my Epson 1280 and it works like a charm. Previously the color management and print settings options were lined out. Choosing the color management option gave a message saying the Color Matching Module was not compatible. Now it all works and printing from either Lightroom or CS4 and allowing them to manage color works and works well. No magenta, no dark print, no green cast. I am a happy guy!

I just installed the new driver for my Epson Photo R800. The print control panel shows the new driver version 8.17, and there are some layout differences in the driver control panel. The problem is that, printing from Lightroom 2, I am still getting dark prints. Anyone having good results with today's new driver and the R800. I was really optimistic when I saw that the driver was available, but no luck with the prints. This has really become a drag.

downloaded epson software update took 1 hour and still not complete.i could not restart had to unplug and replug to get back to desk top.any ideas as to what happened.

This update has stopped the scanner working on my Lexmark x5250 all-in-one. OSX says its scanning, but the scanner doesn't start. Printing is fine, and the scanner worked perfectly prior to this update.

Just wondering if u can bring up the utilities (Nossel cleaning, etc.) on ur Epson 1280. When I previously set up SL, my 1280 would print, but no utilities; which made the printer useless. I went back to 10.5 for the time being.

Just saw this on my Version Tracker software update list. Using this along with the Gutenprint might be a option for those of us with older printers.

The new driver has "Epson Utility Lite" and it does work. It can be called up from the Epson Stylus Photo 1280 window that opens when you print something. It only shows Black and Color (a single bar graph for all the colors rather than each color like it did in the old utility. You get to it by clicking "Printer Setup" and then "Utility" in the above mentioned window. Supply levels works there, but the supply levels button on the above window still doesn't.

If you previously installed the old drivers (3.0aAs) you should have a "Epson Printer Utility2" in your applications or Utilities folder and that worked for me with SL and still does after updating to the new drivers.

Interesting. I wonder if the difference is the printer model. I see you have an R200, mine is a SP 1280. Any other 1280 users out there who have the new drivers and can take a look see?

epson r280 broken after update, no utility, no disc printing, reverting back to earlier driver

After updating driver for R800 (8.17), still getting dark prints, but better than before update. Aperture (with the gamma jacked all the way up to 1.30) is a little better than PS CS3. Still not acceptable.

Downloaded the Epson one for wife's Photo 2200. It does show show ink levels and make test prints but it will not print from any software - even Text Edit. When trying to print nothing happens and the print queue has "error" preceding the name of the document.
