Snow Leopard iChat Server Federation

I am trying to get our two offices both running Snow Leopard Server to be able to talk to each other via iChat. Within each office all the users can talk to each other on the local network using jabber, but I can not seem to work out how to then get the two offices to then be able to see each other within iChat and then have to users show up within the buddy lists... I am probably missing something really simple but if anyone has any ideas would love the help.

Welcome to Apple Discussions

Are these two sites going to talk to each other over the internet or do they interconnect in some other way?

Have you enabled federated services on the Admin application?

Are you using a firewall and have you checked all the ports you need are open?

Finally, anything in the log files that looks like an error?
