iPhoto failing to load Nikon Coolpix l20 images

Hello,

I recently purchased a Nikon l20 and am unable to download the images from the camera using iPhoto. I can download using either the software from Nikon or Image Capture, but even from my hard drive I am unable to import to iPhoto. I am getting an 'unrecognizable format error'. I used to have a Nikon l14 and never received this error.
