Software Update works when running from Apple menu, not from command line

Since upgrading to 10.6 server (10.6.2) Software update has been acting very flaky. As of right now, I got it to pull updates from the our SUS, but only from the apple menu. If I try to run from the command line (softwareupdate -i -a), it just says done. Does the same thing when sending from ARD. Any clues?

I think I also turned off the automatic updates on the client. I don't know if that had anything to do with the success either.

I did notice that it was a blind push to the client and even though it needed a restart (ARD notified me of that) it didn't restart the client. I had to manually do it.

We will look to see next week if there is a command that will ask the client if a restart can occur right now.
