Burning 1x speed for audio-cds

Burning 1x speed for audio-cds

I would like to burn audio-cd at 1x speed. Am using Toast Titanium 8 but when I set burningspeed to1x it still burns at 8x speed. Does anyone know how I can burn slower?

Using iMac 27" 3,06ghz

iMac 27, Mac OS X (10.6.2), -

I've gone 'round and 'round on this because I like to burn at 1x or 2x; unfortunately, it appears that I finally figured it out: with older media (same brand - Verbatim - but purchased some time ago), I can burn at 1x or 2x. With newly purchased media, I can't; I can only set it at 4x for the slowest speed and it'll still burn at a higher speed than that. Since I'm still using the same external (older) burner, it can't be the equipment. So, I guess the newer media no longer allows it???
