First try uninstalling then reinstalling iTunes, that works for some people. Second try turning off the Windows firewall just to see if that is the problem (don't forget to turn it back on after). Third if your connected to the ATV through a router then you may also need to forward those ports on the router as well (I know I had to on my Belkin router). You can usually access the routers configaration page by entering 192.168.2.1 into the address bar of any web browser but it's best to look in your routers manual to see how to forward ports on your model.

I have also tried just about everything and just assume that Apple TV is not compatible with 64-bit Windows 7 yet. Very frustrating. I have a MacBook Pro and just bought a new computer with Windows 7 on it to give it a try. I have not run into an issue unil using iTunes trying to sync with Apple TV. I've opend up the specific ports in the firewall, altought I'm not sure this was necessary as when iTunes installs it automatically opens up all TCP and UDP ports in the firewall. I really hope Apple can get this resolved soon.

The AppleTV and iTunes is most certainly compatible with Windows 7 64bit as that what I'm using and my AppleTV works perfectly. As I said in my last post have you forwarded the ports in your router? For me it was not enough to just open them in my firewall I had to forward them in my router as well, which also means you need to give the AppleTV a static IP address.

Thanks Roidy for your tip.

Now I can synchronise my Apple TV via Ethernet-Cable and via my Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit German) OS (iTunes v9), installed on my Notebook.
Everything I had to do, was to set a manual ip address to my Apple TV. After this I've configued two port forwarding rules on my AVM Fritz Box-Router for the two Ports 3689 (TCP) and 5353 (UDP).
Before this I've tried several things (turning off the Windows 7 Firewall, creating a Firewall rule in Windows 7), but only the older OS, also installed on my Notebook, Windows Vista Ultimate (32bit German) synchronised succesfully with my ATV.
