Snow Leopard Graphics Corruption

Ever since I have installed (clean) Snow Leopard, there seems to be a corruption with the graphics driver that occurs periodically. Any ideas? Is it possible to go back to the Leopard drivers? It has never happened in Leopard.

Thank you.

Thank goodness. I thought I was the only one having this issue.

I'm using 10.6.2 on Snow Leopard.

Get corrupted display about once or twice a week. I usually get a bizarre multi-coloured reflection on the dock, then find that things which should be transparent/shadowed show either black or random RGB noise.
I assume there is a bug in the new driver in SL...

Same exact problem on my MacBook. Happens very often after playing a movie with either Movist or VLC. This appears to be a VERY, VERY similar bug that was fixed in 10.4.7 years ago and appears to be caused when the system get's RAM-strapped and pages to disk. I guess this only affects MacBooks with integrated displays?

Hi everyone, same problem here, I upgraded to 10.6.2 and everything was working perfect and suddenly last week some "shadows" started to behave strange randomly, when it happens it gets fixed for a while if I close the computer (sleep) and I open it again, I am agree with yachtandsea it seems to be related to a strapped RAM.

So if anyone know why is this happening...

Wow, I'm so happy to finally find a thread dealing with this. I was going crazy thinking this is only happening to me and that my graphics card's on the fritz. I upgraded my RAM to 4 gigs and I believe it is happening less frequently now, but the problem still exists.

So annoying. I really hope it is solved in 10.6.3.

I've been on 10.6.3 since it's release and it hasn't fixed itself for me either. It's strange, I was on 10.6.2 for a while and no problems. My HDD died, got my replacement and clean installed SL back on (from the retail disk) and that's when I noticed the issues. Strange because I clean installed SL back when it was first released as well.

I'm bringing it into the Genius Bar tomorrow, gonna have em run some diagnostics to make sure its not indicative of a failing logic board but we'll see.
