In Apple's faq, it says after a successful submission, "the iTunes Store servers must first index your podcast, a process which can take up to 24 hours."

My submission was successful Friday midday. Does this mean by Monday midday, my podcast will be searchable in the iTunes Store.

'Up to 24 hours' may be optimistic. Some days may well be more like it. It varies, but from what others have said I have expected a few days for the podcast to appear in the Store after submission, and then several more days for the Search to throw it up. New episodes usually appear in 1-2 days but there have been patches of it being much slower.

If it's unavailable in Search, how can you tell if it's merely "in the Store"?

When you get your acceptance email you will be given a URL which will lead you directly to the Store page for your podcast.
