Disc Volume failed, not repaired by Disc Utilities: What Next?
I have a Mac Mini 1.6GHz, Intel Core Duo. Currently running OSX 10.4.11. Hard drive was defragged and when I checked Disc Utility function, it found one invalid node and volume failure. Utility could not repair. I used my Tech Tool Pro and this did not work either. After booting from external drive and running TechTool Pro Volume diagnosis on the Mac drive, Mac drive crashed. No repair. I wanted to upgrade my OS from 10.4 to 10.5, but it is not working. I assume there is a relationship. Other than this, no problems with computer. What can I do?
MacMini Intel,
Mac OS X (10.4.11),
1.66GHz Duo Core Intel
I ended up using Disc Utilities of my external drive and erased the internal hard drive. Note: the CD/DVD slot was still functional for the tech Tool DVD to boot off. I then reloaded the OS and everything is working fine. My hard drive must have become corrupted.
