I went here and downloaded gearsoft and it solved the problem.

Hope it works for you

Then go here to download the drivers: http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.php

I had a friend that this was happening too, and that seemed to fix the issue.

I'm with you. iTunes will rip music from a CD, but it will not burn to a blank CDR.
The whole system freezes up when I click on BURN and I have to shut down and reboot in order to eject the blank disk. I get "error 4000". I've invested hours looking for a fix and am getting a bit angry. My burner will burn a WORD doc file, but iTunes won't recognize it. I've reloaded iTunes twice. Obviously we are not the only people with this problem so the cure should be known by now. If anyone has experienced this problem and has a fix please let me know.

I have been working on this issue for WEEKS. My CD burner works FINE with Windows media player - and it uploads audio CDs to itunes every time. When I try to burn a CD from itunes to a blank CD the program claims it cannot find a CD burner (error 2380).

I've changed and changed back the settings from regedit, I've downloaded and installed gearsoft, I've updated itunes, updated my firmware, my drivers (brand new laptop - nothing needed updating). The itunes diagnostics claims it is a conflict with other older CD burning applications - then why does it work with other applications and is only an issue with itunes?

If anyone hears of a new resolution, please include me!

The exact message from the Diagnostics (the same diagnostics which curiously cannot seem to find an audio CD placed in the same drive but DOES rip audio just fine in itunes!) is here:-

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)
IBM 8184D7G
iTunes 9.0.3.15

Failed while scanning for CD/DVD drives, error 2380.
Error while opening iTunes CD driver. This could be caused by a corrupted iTunes file or a conflict with other older CD burning applications, either currently installed or previously installed and uninstalled incorrectly.

The line that says

"CD Driver DLL Not Available"

would seem to mean some software is missing and has not been installed for some reason.

The other GEAR Aspi driver is there as can be seen.

So what's this dll file that itunes is failing to install and how do we get it to detect the drive as a burner?

I tried disabling the IDE CD burner and plugging in a USB one but itunes still went to the (non existent) IDE one, go figure that one!

A possible work around in the absence of a solution:-

Make a playlist of the tracks to burn
Use sharepod utility to copy tracks from the ipod to pc for that playlist
Use Roxio or Nero or similar to burn tracks to audio CD etc

A bit of a pain but it works!

I have the same problem, after buying a new windows 7 computer. After downloading the new version of iTunes ,it keeps saying "No disc burner or software found"...when I try to burn CD's. I have followed the suggestions listed in this thread but they don't work for me. I have tried to edit my registry settings ( as suggested on iTunes support page), again with no luck. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I have downloaded other Cd burning software but that doesn't help me burn CD's from within iTunes.
