Hauwei E156B Mobile Broadband USB Driver/Installation File

Hello folks,

I just recently purchase a USB Keyfob for Mobile Broadband. The model number is E156B and it is manufactured by Huawei. I have search up and down Huawei's support forms and downloading multiple software bundles to no avail. I don't think Huawei even supports Mac OSX 106. Snow Leopard. In any case, I figure I would try one last time here to see if someone has successfully configured the E156B through "Tigo" with OS 10.6.2

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Hi Friends,

I found the solution for the problem,

Im posting the link to the "drivers" and "Mobile Partner" application to do all job from Mac OS X. Before this solution I recharge my balance from a Windows XP on Vmware Fusion, then I made the dialup from Connect Menu.

I install the driver on:
MobileConnectDriver 64 (4.15.00.00).zip

Then the Mobile Partner Application
MOBILE_CONNECT.ISO

To finish the solution I add a new profile to TIGO Guatemala,

In Mobile Partner, select Tools Menu, then Options
on Profile Management select New
Change APN to Static and set
APN: broadband.tigo.gt

Click Save, and Click Default (to set the new profile as default) The application already has a lot of profiles preconfigured.

I used a Huawei E169 Mobile Broadband Modem using a generic 3G Modem setup under Mac OS X 10.6.3.

This is how I set up the modem:
Open System Preferences window (from Apple menu)
Open the Network Preference Pane.
Select the Huawei xxx Modem item from the list of network connections (there were two more Huawei items)
Click on "Advanced" settings.
Select "Generic" as Modem Manufacturer.
Select the 3G Modem type.
enter the provider specific dial number (*99# in my case)
enter the provider specific ID and password (left blank in my case)
enter provider specific APN (in my case "Internet")
you need to check your providers specific settings for the above!

Click on OK button.
Activate Network setting
Choose to select modem in menue bar
Close System Preferences Window...
To connect, go to the menu bar, click on the handset icon and choose to connect.
After use, disconnect as above (depending on your contract, time charges might apply)

Good Luck
