Windows XP Cannot Copy RPCRT4.DLL and SHELL32.DELL

I partitioned my macbook and attempted to install Windows XP

It went well up until the 57% complete mark when the windows couldn't copy rpcrt4.dll and shell32.dll. When asked if I wanted Windows to retry to copy I hit yes and the same error occurred. When I tried to startup in WIndows got a blue-screen asking me to reinstall rpcrt4.dll

Thoughts? I tried going through the recovery console to copy the files on the windows side but I was asked to indicate which windows installation number I wanted to log onto and I was prompted for a password, but I don't even know if that's the right way to approach this problem

I'd really appreciate any input

Hi, I had the same problem. I've been fighting this for the last 3 days. fortunately i found this post. I had actually tried reinstalling many times even reformatted and re-installed my snow leopard just now before reading this. I would love to see someone find the answer to this as I have had a mirror image replica of the issue (only those two files) I have downloaded them and will do likewise however i'd love to see this not have to be the work around for everybody.

I just copied these files into the folder and got the following issues when I went to continue:

Error message:
I didn't write down the first but it was almost identical to the second one: Services.exe....KERNEL32.dll

I had no choice but to dismiss the message and continue. the installer then told me the install was terminated and gave me the following setuperr.log log:
Error:
Setup could not register the OLE Control C:\WINDOWS\system32\rsaenh.dll because of the following error:
DllRegisterServer returned error 2147500037 (80004005).

I'd really like to find an answer to this as I'm hoping to get xp up and running for my brother in law for christmas. "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope"

Hey Every body, I'm just discovered that my disc (Purchased on eBay) was a fake. though it looked identical to the packaging and the hologram of the real disc, the install kept having those issues and even with a SP3 OEM disc that i purchased down at my local mac authorized reseller store, the serial the disc proved didn't work. I am currently up and happy with my new SP3 legal copy. -not the one that gave me those problems.
The Moral of the story: be weary of legitimate looking copies. both I and the 3 apple certified technicians that helped me all were fooled by both the print job, the sticker job and the holographic disc all until we grabbed their copy of the shelf and held them up next to each other. mine was a tad bit faded in the print job and the COA sticker's colors were a tad bit more vibrant than the authentic. + the serial key didn't work.
