Distortion in final songs on burned CD

Hi, I've noticed in the last couple months that CDs I've burned from itunes playlists play fine until song 9 or 10, then the remainder of the songs are staticky and distorted. Is this deliberate move by Apple? Does anyone know what I can do about it? Thanks for any help.

You describe my issue exactly. I have burned 3-4 CDs trying lower speeds based on the recommendation. Now down to 2x. And as someone noted around song 9 or 10 I begin to hear static and the longer I play it the worse it becomes.
Album was purchased via iTunes at Xmas this year.
Songs play fine on my Mac Mini and iPod.
Is there any particular brand or style of CD that are known to be of better quality? I am using a Memorex that can go to 52x and these were purchased quite awhile ago.
Seems like there is some buffering or latency with this as the first songs sound wonderful, yet by 9, as you say, it begins to deteriorate.
Thanks

Hi!

Okay, I know this question has been answered but I just want to be clarified because I've been having similar problems too.

If I just lower the preferred speed, it'll make those weird clicky/wooshy/echo-y noises in the songs that I burned into my blank discs (Memorex CD-R 700MB) go away? I don't have to change anything else?

I was worried because I never burned a CD in iTunes before. I thought that maybe because (A.) all the songs were ".mp3", (B.) I downloaded them from another internet site (not iTunes Store) and (C.) I changed the Volume Adjustment to +100%--that's why the songs sound so warped.

I burned 8 CDs yesterday only to have 7 of them turn out so bad!!! ALL the songs were distorted! I felt so horrified and disappointed because my baby cousin especially requested those songs from me. PLEASE tell that this could solve my CD burning problem because I do not want to let her down.

Thank you!

A and B will not cause a problem. C might. Burn a CD and try.
