new iMac won't play many of my purchased iTunes songs

I have 2 of my 5 computers authorized for iTunes. My new iMac won't let me play many of songs, and I get a message that my iMac is not authorized to play the song I paid for on my other computer. I repeatedly go through the process of telling it my iMac is authorized...it agrees, then returns to tell me it cannot play my songs because my iMac is not authorized. What step am I missing?

I have the same problem. My old G5 had no issues playing songs purchased under my AOL screenname and my Apple screenname. Now my new Mac wont play the songs purchased under AOL. I talked to customer service and the did a "top of the system" deauthorization and told me to go back in and authorize. Didnt work. I sent them another email yesterday and havent heard back yet. I have at least 40+ songs that wont play on my new Mac or Iphones. Not happy. Anyone got any solutions?

Here is what customer service is now telling me to do:

I'm sorry to hear that you have been experiencing difficulties with the iTunes application. To resolve this, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. Before beginning, please back up your iTunes library as explained here:

To uninstall iTunes, please follow the steps in this article:

After you've uninstalled iTunes and removed the related files, you will need to reinstall it. You can download the latest version free of charge from the iTunes website:

After you've reinstalled iTunes, please ensure you have the latest version of QuickTime installed. You can find the latest version here:

If you continue to experience difficulties with iTunes after uninstalling and reinstalling it, you may wish to call our AppleCare technical support team. I hope this information has been helpful.

I havent gone through this whole process yet, has anyone else tried this yet?
