corrupt boot.ini file is hidden from within Snow Leopard 10.6.x

Against my better judgment, I edited my BootCamp boot.ini file from within WinXP. I also made a backup of it just in case. (Both files were denoted as "hidden", but the check box was grayed out to prevent me from changing that attribute.)

None the less, when I tried to boot into XP, I got an error. So my only recourse is to try to restore boot.ini from within OS X. The problem is, the file is hidden!

Is there any way to unhide and edit boot.ini from within OS X?
