Airport Express WEP & Nintendo DS incompatibility

Hello,

I haven't found a forum exclusively for Airport Express, but since I use it also with my new MBP, I thought of writting it in here. Please move it if such a forum exists.

I wanted to write this, hoping Apple would read it, that the new 802.11n Airport Express is, by all my researches & tests, incompatible with the Nintendo DS WEP. So the the only way to connect to Wifi with the DS is to remove all protection from the Airport Express. If I am correct, this wasn't the case with previous incarnations.

I mainly bought it so I could connect with DS. But Apple' WEP is not recognized. It would be nice of Apple to take notice of this and fix it in an upcoming firmware update. I don't know what standard the PSP uses but I was planning on also getting one, now i'm totally unsure. The PS3 is compatible and connects flawlessly.

So I'm pretty disapointed since I live in an urban area and I have to let my internet be stolen just so I can play the DS' games Wifi features. Unless someone found a solution that really does works, because i'm tired of fiddling around to no avail.

Many thanks for hearing out,

Quezacolt

Well so far nothing from Apple' side (no firmware update).

Anyone with the Airport Express 802.11n found a way to make this work with WEP? If you have a DS and uses Apple' Airport(s) or Wifi devices, could you share how you connect your DS? Thank you so much in advance. I can't believe there isn't a way.

I'm really bummed 😟
