Smoking around a Mac?

Everyone in my family smokes and every time their over they always smoke around my Macbook Pro (which really annoys me) and I wanted to know if this can do damage to any part of it like (I doubt it) but I just want to make sure it wont.

Thanks

15 Inch Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

being a long time computer tech their is nothing nastier then working on a smokers computer.the tar and whatever cakes up on the electronics and shorts them out.bugs also love computer and their is nothing worse then roach droppings shorting it out.i honestly am not suprised by apples stance on this and are on their side.

I read a rumor that Apple is denying service to Apple Care covered machines if there is second hand smoke damage or indication. It is a "health hazard" to employs. I don't know if this is true or not, but I am sure calling Apple will answer that. Other than that I can't imagine smoke going through the machine is all that good for it.

Apple voided my three year Warranty after 8 months citing "smoke damage" to the inside of the MBP, I have the pictures they used to base this on and I think it's very dubious personally. I fought with them and eventually got some of my AppleCare payment refunded but they really need to put this in writing and warn people this is a possible warranty breaker IMHO.

+I haven't read the Apple Care agreement, but is this issue stated anywhere in that document?+

I don't believe so, and yet part of my argument with them was that this was not explicitly stated as a warranty breaker (and it should be). I've not smoked for 18+ months now so its' not an issue with this hardware, but I wasn't happy they used such a feeble excuse not to fix a DVD drive ...
