Intermitent beeping/ringing sound on video recording playback - Part 2

Further to my earlier post (and I'm surprised no one else has noticed this "problem"), I recorded two 1 minute video pieces in complete darkness, and low and behold, the ringing/beeping sound, mostly on 4 half of one second intervals every 5 seconds occurs. It sounds like radio interference or something, but there was definitely no cell phone or radio on anywhere around me.

So would any of you kind souls out there try the same thing. Just record 60 seconds in complete darkness and listen carefully for this beeping/ringing sound and let me know if you notice this.

Thanks for trying anyway. Perhaps its just "my" nano, but its strange, intermittent and repeatable. I will take it into the Apple store on Saturday and see if they can shed light on it.

I followed the 5 R approach but still the same problem. I analyzed with Audacity, can see approx 6 second interval 4 beeps per interval. Also occurs with Voice only recording too.

I just upgraded to software version 1.0.2 but the beeping remains and noticed now on Voice recordings too.

Because no one else has it? I don't.

I just watched your video, so I tried it also. No ringing or beeping sound. Then again, why take a video in complete darkness & silence? 😉

I was troubleshooting. No video recording reduces burden on the system, and proved that without picture, the audio clearly had the beeping.

I did call Apple who could not solve either so I did return to Best Buy for a replacement, which thankfully doesn't have the beeping noise.

I have the same problem with the nano my bf got me for christmas...I'm heading to best buy for an exchange first thing tomorrow morning! Thank you for your posts! =)
