Bioshock Gamepad Recognition

Having trouble getting Bioshock to recognize my gamepad. I'm running the Mac version of the game and got the Logitech dual analog controller. Despite having the mac friendly symbol on its packaging, there is not a mac driver/software available from logitech for this device. Do I need to find another gamepad, or is there a way to get around this? I do not want to resort to the xbox controller (given that its driver apparently has a tendency to crash bioshock and it's a bit large for my hands), and I truly have no desire to play with the keyboard/mouse setup.
The manual for Bioshock says a dual analog controller can be used, but can't seem to get it to show options for anything but the xbox one.
Thanks!!!
