PAGES - SPELLING GRAMMAR IN PORTUGUESE OF BRAZIL

Hello.
I'm trying touse the spelling grammar to correct a text in Brazilian Portuguese. I already set up the Text option to "Portugues do Brasil", but it didn't work. Even when I tried to type a word using accents, it doesn't work.
Is there any clue?
Any help is welcome.

Welcome to the forum. 🙂

The language for checking is a text attribute like bold or font or color.

+Select the text+ that you want to check:

+Inspector > Text > More > Language > Português do Brasil+

+Menu > Edit > Proofreading+

It almost work perfectly.
Still missing accents, but it worked for most part of the text!

Curious about the accents. No accents at all, or some missing?

Have you tried correcting them and making the dictionary learn those?

There are also 3rd party dictionaries and if you are using OSX 10.6 you can borrow the dictionaries from OpenOffice.

Hi!
Yes... even when I try to make the spell checker to correct or learn a word, it doesn't save it.
I'll try to get 3rd dictionaries; it's happening only for two or three words...
Anyway, your tips helped me a lot; I'm still a junior!

Tell Apple about the accent problem:

+Menu > Pages > Provide Pages Feedback+
