GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE

Repalcing an out-of-warranty item for free is not good customer service. it is, pure and simple, making warranties useless.

Good customer service is walking into an Apple store to be greeted by friendly faces and knowledgeable people who are willing to offer you options and an expert opinion on how to repair your issue - not give you whatever you want no matter how ridiculous your request is.

My iPhone 3GS was running my golf GPS App (GolfShot) really well before the update.

After the update the yardages update very infrequently, rendering the app useless.

And this week when trying to use my phone for navigating in Delaware, the Google Maps Direction feature has become essentially useless due to very slow updates of position. When I was here in early July, it was working very well, showing a smooth progression of "the blue dot" along the road shown on the map.

good customer service is to understand the nature and cause of the problem. apple takes out an update and we update, simple! after that you come to know that gps is not working which was perfect earlier and later it is addressed as a hardware issue. what is a customer suppose to do not update his phone if it is out of warrenty???then why do we pay so much for a locked phone? its better to go in for w/o bill unlocked (grey) phone............

guys here a fix that has worked for me. hope should work for you guys as well....
jailbreak your iphone ....absolutly no problems with that.
Install xgps software for navigation. Another very good navigation.
open application lookout for clear sky, if the blue spot doesn't point correct position go to setting options (below left on the screen) go to GPS and press 5-6 times the reset button. you are done....u should get a fix immediately be patient it can take 4-5 min sometimes. quit and open google maps, you are fixed in a flash......
try this and lemme kno' if it worked for you.........thanx

Jailbreak to solve a GPS issue? Naw.

I went to the Genius Bar, they wiped the phone and re-installed 3.x firmware.

I synced with iTunes, and yay, it is back to good GPS performance. Tight tracking along routes, some occasional wandering of the location dot off of a road but really much better than recent performance.

This implies that the upcoming 4.0 firmware may help/solve GPS issues for most users.

(Only issue is that the sync did not pick up some data-files for a couple of apps. They must not store their data-files in a correct manner.)

Guys here is tested fix, hope this works for u ppl as well. Very simple and tested. The problem actually is with the initial positioning with the triangulation. So here is the fix....
1. Settings~general~reset~reset location warning~press reset warning
2. open motion X lite 9.3 (if not installed go to iTunes store and download the lite version it`s free) it will ask " motion x would like to take your current location" press NO. And hold the phone facing open clear sky for about a min. it will show NO GPS SIGNAL. No problems and exit
3. Open MAPS again it will ask for current location press YES and hold for 30 sec you should get the satellite fix
pls drop in your feedback if it worked for u.

The Newest....The BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if you encounter “Cannot connect to YouTube” after launching the app (assuming that your WiFi or 3G connection is normal), it’s very likely you need this fix.

1. First, launch cydia.

2. Tap “Manage” -> “Source” and then tap the “Edit” button.

3. Tap “Add”. Then add the Pushfix source ( http://cydia.pushfix.info).

4. Once you have added the repository, you should be able to download the YouTube Fix package. Go to “Search” and key in “YouTube” to locate the YouTube Fix package.

5. There are three packages of YouTube Fix. Tap on “Youtube Fix #1″ and install it.

Once the installation is complete, go back to home screen and launch YouTube. You should be able to connect to YouTube.

In case the fix doesn’t work for you, launch cydia again and uninstall the “YouTube Fix #1″. Then go through step 4 & 5 of the above procedures. But for step 5, install “Youtube Fix #2″ instead. If it still doesn’t work, uninstall #2 and install the “YouTube Fix #3″ package. It’s very important you only install one of the YouTube fixes at one time.
