Need a voicemail waiting indicator

Hi,
Is there an app or setting I can use to have the iphone repeatedly indicate the presence of an unheard voicemail? I really need a blinking light or periodic beep to tell me when I have a voicemail waiting for me. Other, lower-tech phones I've had did have this extremely useful feature - I am not always right by my phone when calls come in and I often get messages while I'm on the phone then forget to check after my call. Please - can someone help me with this?

No. The iPhone beeps once when a VM is received. It display a red "badge" on the phone app icon when you unlock the phone. But that's it. As there are no external lights on the phone to flash, and apps cannot activate sounds if the app is not launched.

Maybe set a reminder in calendar to check your voicemail. Every time you use your phone you see the red circle with missed call and/or voicemail so you know you have one.

Maybe Apple could adopt some features found on a $59 Motorola, like an alert for waiting voicemail messages! Just because Steve Jobs didn't think of it doesn't mean it's not a good feature!

If having a constant voicemail alert is such an important feature for you, maybe you could adopt a $59 Motorola. Otherwise: you could submit feedback : http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
