Can't save MP4 as a .mov file get error message below

The error message reads: "This movie cannot be saved"

Below it says:

"This movie has an incorrect time value"

I'm trying to save it as an MOV file for use with IMovie

Any suggestions?

Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Where did you get this .mp4 file?
What version of iMovie?

The file came as a Quicktime MP4 from a video editor. I'm using IMovie 09 Version 8.0.5 (820)

Probably not a video "editor" but a video "converter" application. My guess is iSquint (now out of business).
MPEG Streamclip may be able to export the file or fix the timecode issue. I never used the iSquint software so I'm not sure.

I think that my editor friend, a human, my take issue with being called a converter. Sorry I wasn't clear about that.
