Belkin dongle setup

I have the belkin mini bluetooth dongle

In order to get round the mac pro poor BT problem and connect my magic mouse. It works fine, other than I have to re-pair the MM on every reboot, which involves getting the wired mouse out.

Is there a setting i'm missing or a way to do this?

Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Hello Peter:

I do not use an external BT device. However, you might try making the mouse a "favorite."

Go to system preferences>bluetooth. Highlight your mouse and click on the little gear at the bottom and then click on +"show more info."+ Click on the gear again and make the mouse a favorite.

Thanks, but i've already tried that with no success.

I can wake from sleep ok, which seems to be the other problem I read about, but no amount of fiddling has yet activated the mouse on startup.

Have you tried to manually remove all BT preferences (plist files) and then re-pairing?
