Can't install FCP on my new MacBook Pro

I just realize that I can't install FCP on my brand new Macbook Pro. Does anyone knows of any solution that would let me install FCP. According to the notes FCP will not install on Intel Core Processors.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2), 2.5 GHz Intel Core Duo 4G RAM

It would be useful if you -

A. told us what version of FCP/FCS you are trying to install
B. told us the error messages you received

In the meantime, Final Cut Pro 5.0 and earlier are not supported on intel macs. Time to upgrade. If you have a regular retail version of FCP, the upgrade price is $299. Academic and Not For Resale versions do not qualify for the upgrade.

Yes, FCP will install on Intel Macs, but only version 5.1.4 and later.

If you don't have a compatible version, then you need to upgrade to version FCS3 (2009)

I'm having the same install problem. And I do have upgrade disks for FCP6/Studio2
How can the upgrade work if one cannot even install FCP5/Studio1? Is there a way to bypass?

You don't need to install the old version at all. Just have the old serial number ready; you'll be prompted to enter it during the install process for the upgrade version.
