How to turn off the audible click when taking pictures?

Hello All,

I've done a search on this forum but didn't find an answer. Is there any way to turn off the audible click when taking a picture other than silencing the whole phone via the slider on the side?

iPhone 3Gs, iPhone OS 3.1.2

Page 104 of the manual:

"When you take a photo or start a video recording, iPhone makes a shutter sound.
The sound isn’t played if you’ve set the Ring/Silent switch to silent. See “Sounds and
the Ring/Silent Switch” on page 141. "
