Printing through dlink DP-301U

I am using a dlink DP-301U print server to print to a Canon MF 4350d. I can print to the Canon via the print server from my vista pc, and can print from my macbook via usb directly. I have tried the IPP and the Line Printer settings to no avail.

Any advice?

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Hello and welcome to Apple Discussions.

The Canon UFR2 driver for Mac OS X will not function when the printer is connected to the USB port of a print server, including a Apple Airport Extreme/Express. This is a limitation of the driver and I have never found a workaround.

If your model had Ethernet, like the MF4370dn, then you could use the Ethernet port of the machine and the print server/router to connect. The UFR2 driver works fine in this manner.

You could also connect the MF4350d to the Vista PC and then use the following procedure to print to it from the Mac.

Hi Palu:

I read your posts about using the ethernet connection on the MF4370dn to print wireless via the apple extreme. I tried this and still am having trouble. I looked up the IP address in the printer and input that address into the system preferences on y mac, but I keep getting a "stop" message in the print queue. Can you write down the steps that I need to take for this?

Thank You.
