After 11 months, WIFI stopped working

I've been using wifi on my iphone perfectly for the past 11 months, but last week it decided to stop working.

1) There is a wifi address showing when I click on 'About' - but still no network found, even though there are 5 here.
2) I've done the network reset - still can't find network
3) I've done the content reset - still can't find any network
4) I've referred myself to these articles http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398?viewlocale=en_US but they don't really say how to fix wifi IF you have the address available AND STILL have NO network on the list.

Help.
